Elle Wild’s Novel to be Published
Congratulations to former Optional-Residency MFA student Elle Wild, whose novel Strange Things Done, has just been picked up for publication by Thomas Allen Publishers/Dundurn Press for 2016 publication. The manuscript was also awarded an Arthur Ellis Award for Best Unpublished First Crime Novel.
Alex Leslie Wins Dayne Ogilvie Prize
Congratulations to MFA graduate Alex Leslie for winning the $4000 Dayne Ogilvie Prize for LGBT Emerging Writers. Established in 2007, the prize is presented to an emerging Canadian writer from the LGBT community who demonstrates great promise through a body of work of exceptional quality. C.C Humphreys wins Arthur Ellis Award
Congratulations to MFA student C.C. Humphreys, who won the 2015 Arthur Ellis Award for Crime Writing (Best Novel) for his novel Plague, published by Doubleday Canada. In addition to this award, this summer Humphreys will see Vancouver’s Bard on the Beach festival stage the adaptation of his bestselling novel Shakespeare’s Rebel.
Shaelyn Johnston Wins Historica Canada’s Aboriginal Arts & Stories contest
