This course, designed by UBC professor Sarah Leavitt, begins with introductory exercises and wraps up with a final short comics assignment. In between, students will read comics history and theory as well as excerpts from a wide range of published comics; learn from interviews with working cartoonists; experiment with daily drawing; practice working with pencil, ink and colour; and work towards developing their own unique comics style.
How to Write a Novel

From outlining to draft writing, to editing and revising your manuscript, we’ll give you the tools to create the novel you’ve always dreamed of writing.
