Please join us for a reading and celebration of Keith Maillard as he retires from the School of Creative Writing. Current and former colleagues and friends will speak and Maillard will read from his work.
The event takes place on Thursday, October 16 at 5:00 pm on Zoom.
Over his 35 years at UBC, Keith served as Chair of Creative Writing several times. Under his leadership Creative Writing introduced the lecture courses which have been so crucial to the development and health of the School. In addition to his own novels, poetry, and memoirs, for which he was recognized with the 2024 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Literary Excellence, Keith mentored generations of emerging writers.
