Alynna Wynter Hopkins (A.W.) is a writer and filmmaker. She has a BA in Communications from Simon Fraser University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia. She attended the Norman Jewison Directors Lab at the Canadian Film Centre. Her feature film “Indian Road Trip” won Best BC Director at the Whistler Film Festival. Her short films have been screened nationally and internationally. Alynna is also a fiction writer. Her short story collection ‘A Splendid Indian’ will be published in early 2027.

She is based in Vancouver and lives in the Kitsilano neighbourhood. She is a member of N’Quatqua First Nation and is grateful to reside on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
