A trio from the UBC Creative Writing community were honoured as University of Lethbridge School of Liberal Education 2026 Bridge Prize winners, with two of them earning top billing in the graduate and undergraduate categories.

Amber Dawn received the Dorothy Livesay Poetry Prize for her poetry collection, Buzzkill Clamshell. Léa Taranto received the Sheila A. Egoff Children’s Literature Prize for her YA novel, A Drop in the Ocean.

The winner, chosen by CookeMcDermid and the editorial team of HarperCollins, will be offered representation by CookeMcDermid and a standard contract to publish from HarperCollin.
