HarperCollinsCanada/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction

We’re pleased to announce the second annual HarperCollinsCanada/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction. This prize, a collaboration between UBC Creative Writing, HarperCollinsCanada and the Cooke Agency, offers agency representation and a publishing contract to the winning novel. Katherena Vermette Wins Governor General’s Award for Poetry

Congratulations to current Creative Writing MFA student Katherena Vermette, winner of the 2013 Governor General’s Award for poetry for her collection North End Love Songs. Karim Alrawi wins HarperCollinsCanada/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction.

Congratulations to Karim Alrawi, winner of the inaugural HarperCollinsCanada/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction. Karim won for his his manuscript Book of Sands, a novel about a young father forced to flee Cairo after mistakenly becoming involved in a political demonstration during the Arab Spring.
