Falling for Beatrice is a fiction novel exploring themes of intimacy in human relationships: pregnancy, childbearing, abortion, cis-gender and non-cis gender friendship, challenges of scholarly pursuit in the subject of women’s sex trafficking and abortion while exploring gender identity in a colonized, post-modern global society. It also offers a greater character study of the female person, Beatrice Portinari, who becomes a vital character in the established trilogy of poems from The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.
