Tara Armstrong (BFA Grad) and Rebecca Hales (MFA Grad) are two of nine writers selected for the 2014 Bell Media Prime Time TV Program. They’ll take part in a full-time five-month program that delivers a team-based approach to TV series writing while nurturing individual voices and developing new series concepts.
Current MFA student Alessandra Naccarato is one of five poets to be shortlisted for the 2014 CBC Poetry Prize for her poem Coyote Medicine. The grand prize is $6,000 plus publication and a Banff residency. The winner will be announced on September 22nd.
Congratulations to current MFA students Zachary Hug and Alessandra Naccarato, who were two of the three winning entries in Event Magazine’s 2014 Creative Non-Fiction contest. Their winning pieces will be published in Event in December and receive $500 prizes.
MFA Grad Rachelle Delaney’s The Metro Dogs of Moscow is nominated for the Geoffrey Bilson Award for Historical Fiction for Young People.
