Miriam Toews, UBC Creative Writing’s current writer in residence, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Folio Prize. Sponsored by The Folio Society, celebrated publisher of beautiful editions of the world’s greatest books, the £40,000 prize recognises the best English-language fiction from around the world, regardless of form, genre or the author’s
country of origin.
Miriam’s book, All My Puny Sorrows, is one of eight shortlisted for the prize. Miriam is currently serving as UBC Creative Writing’s writer in residence during February and March, 2015. During her term, she will consult with students and visit on-campus and online classes.
