Joshua Whitehead is the School of Creative Writing's Writer in Residence from January 13 to 24.

Please join us to welcome Joshua Whitehead as he starts his two-week residency with the School of Creative Writing.

Professor Billy-Ray Belcourt will introduce Joshua Whitehead and his work, Joshua Whitehead will read, and then the two will have a brief discussion.

Appetizers and drinks will follow.

Everyone is welcome.

The Dodson Room is on the second floor of the Irving K Barber Learning Centre. The entrance and the room are wheelchair accessible, and IKBLC has accessible washrooms.

About Joshua Whitehead

Joshua Whitehead is an Oji-Cree, Two-Spirit member of Peguis First Nation (Treaty 1). He is the author of full-metal indigiqueer, Jonny Appleseed, Making Love with the Land, and Indigiqueerness: a Conversation About Storytelling as well as the editor of Love after the End: an Anthology of Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer Speculative Fiction. Whitehead is an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary (Treaty 7) where he is housed in the departments of English and International Indigenous Studies and is currently a Research Excellence Chair.
