We’re pleased to announce that we will once again be running an alumni class as part of the UBC School of Creative Writing annual Summer Residency.
This special course will be a multi-genre, generative workshop taught by Zac Hug, a Los Angeles-based TV writer who teaches in our Optional Residency MFA program and is himself a proud CRWR MFA alumni.
The course is open to BFA and MFA UBC Creative Writing alumni from all eras.
The class and any other summer residency events (keynotes, panels) will be held weekdays from Wednesday, July 3 to Friday, July 12, 2024. There will be optional reading events, film screenings and social events many evenings.
Alumni coming from out of town should plan to arrive on or before Tuesday, July 2 (we will have an informal check-in and orientation that afternoon), and leave on or after Saturday, July 13 (classes and final events will run all day on the 12th).
We’re offering a special Early Bird Rate of $835 (that’s $160 off!) until April 30. The regular rate kicks in on May 1 at $995.
See the registration page (linked below) for more details. We look forward to welcoming you back to campus this summer!
