Gokhan started working at UBC after he moved to Vancouver in 2020 and took on administrative roles at the Faculty of Education before joining the School of Creative Writing in mid-2023.
Before UBC, Gokhan worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey as an administrative and consular officer for 9 years, of which 6 years were spent in Ethiopia and France.
Gokhan holds a BA and an MA in political science and wrote his master’s thesis in French on the LGBTQ+ rights movement in Turkey.
