Katherena Vermette Wins Governor General’s Award for Poetry

Congratulations to current Creative Writing MFA student Katherena Vermette, winner of the 2013 Governor General’s Award for poetry for her collection North End Love Songs. This $25,000 award is awarded annually to the best book of poetry published in English in Canada. More information about Katherena and her book is available at the GG website.

Karim Alrawi wins HarperCollinsCanada/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction.

Congratulations to Karim Alrawi, winner of the inaugural HarperCollinsCanada/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction.
