  Belcourt.</p></blockquote><p><strong>Whitehead </strong>is an Oji-Cree\, T
 wo-Spirit member of Peguis First Nation (Treaty 1). He is the author of <em
 >full-metal indigiqueer</em>\, <em>Jonny Appleseed</em>\, <em>Making Love w
 ith the Land</em>\, and <em>Indigiqueerness: a Conversation About Storytell
 ing </em>as well as the editor of <em>Love after the End: an Anthology of T
 wo-Spirit and Indigiqueer Speculative Fiction</em>. Whitehead is an Assista
 nt Professor at the University of Calgary (Treaty 7) where he is housed in 
 the departments of English and International Indigenous Studies and is curr
 ently a Research Excellence Chair.</p><p>During this ten-day residency from
  October 20 to October 31\, Whitehead will offer one-on-one mentorship\, vi
 sit classes\, and offer a process talk on the land-and-literature based-res
 earch he immersed himself in for his new book <em>The Stonewailers.</em></p
 ><p>This event is open to the students\, faculty and staff of the School of
  Creative Writing and the wider UBC community.</p><p><em>We are grateful to
  the First Nations House of Learning for allowing us the use of Sty-Wet-Tan
  Great Hall at the First Nations Longhouse for this event.</em></p><p>[butt
