  recording and reimagining a livable present and future can expand our inte
 rest and flexibility\, building us a vision to work toward and reasons to w

 our anxiety\, rage\, despair\, apathy\, or whatever other “climate emotions
 ” you have! We’ll do some small exercises to carry those feelings\, and col
 laborate on writing a future where they’re less necessary.</span></p><p>Reg

 out Kate Schapira</h3><p class="">Kate Schapira has been listening to peopl
 e about climate change for ten years\, at the Climate Anxiety Counseling bo
 oth and elsewhere.  She lives in Providence\, Rhode Island\, where she teac
 hes nonfiction writing at Brown University and is involved with local effor
 ts toward environmental justice\, climate justice and peer mental health su
 pport.</p><p class="">The exercises in her first work of nonfiction\, <a hr
 ef="https://www.amazon.com/Lessons-Climate-Anxiety-Counseling-Booth/dp/0306
 831678/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=">Lessons from the Clima
 te Anxiety Counseling Booth</a>\, offer actionable steps for connecting wit
 h others\, identifying and activating community abundance\, matching your s
 kills with organized climate activism\, and imagining a radically more liva
 ble future in order to bring it into being. She partners with community hea
 lth initiatives\, museums\, schools and universities\, career development o
 ffices and community organizations to implement and adapt these exercises t
 o further and deepen their missions and visions.</p><p class="">In addition
  to <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Lessons-Climate-Anxiety-Counseling-Boot

 the Climate Anxiety Counseling Booth</a>\, Kate is also the author of six b
 ooks of poetry\, and her prose has appeared in <a href="https://catapult.co

 ">Catapult</a>\, <a href="https://therumpus.net/2015/11/25/strange-waters/"
 >The Rumpus</a>\, The Toast\, and as a chapbook from Essay Press called <a 
 href="https://www.essaypress.org/ep-98/">Time to Be Something Other Than Hu
 man</a>. With Carolyn McGrath and the Climate Psychology Alliance of North 
 America\, she co-edited the <a href="https://www.climatepsychology.us/educa
 tors-guide-climate-emotions" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Educ
 ator’s Guide to Climate Emotions</a>. She never met a tidepool she didn’t l
 ike.</p>
