The BA Minor in Creative Writing is intended to allow students who are interested in pursuing Creative Writing as a part of their degree to do so as an augmentation to their declared major. Students wishing to become a BFA Major in Creative Writing should consult the information for prospective BFA Majors.
Students must complete 12 credits of 200 level courses, and 18 credits of 300 level courses over the course of their degree. 400 level courses may be substituted for 300 level credits, but are only open to non-BFA Majors in exceptional circumstances.
For a visual overview of the course structure of the minor program, including prerequisite paths, check out this summary: 200 & 300 level courses – 2016-2017.
Note: not all of these courses may be offered each year. Please consult the UBC Course Schedule for times and availability. For more detailed information on these courses, please see the listings on our webpage.
