Karim Alrawi wins HarperCollinsCanada/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction.



Congratulations to Karim Alrawi, winner of the inaugural HarperCollinsCanada/UBC Prize for Best New Fiction. Karim won for his his manuscript Book of Sands, a novel about a young father forced to flee Cairo after mistakenly becoming involved in a political demonstration during the Arab Spring. This is his first novel.
The winner of this annual prize is offered literary representation by The Cooke Agency, and an advance and a contract to publish by HarperCollinsCanada.
